MAJA was designed by Teemu Karhunen in 2007. He was, also, the young assistant of Yrjo Kukkapuro. MAJA’s design concept comes from the Finnish cottage where Teemu lived when he was a child and has influenced this, somewhat,cottage outlook which may be seen in the design of the MAJA sofa. Because he had been an assistant to Yrjo Kukkapuro for many years, Teemu Karhunen’s design is still based on the Scandinavian style of the simple, the aesthetic and the ergonomic.
